As I read through some of my favorite articles this month I noticed that this summer has been all about adventure. It seems like more people are discovering the power of being in nature and challenging themselves to have more adventures. I love it!
July has been full of many new experiences for me and I hope you have gotten outside and explored for yourself too!
Today, I am excited to bring you some of the best online articles from July. If you missed my May and June roundups, you can check them out here and here.

Adventure Travel for the Non-Athlete
If you have ever skipped out on some exciting adventure because you were worried that you weren’t fit enough for it, this article Adventure Travel for the Non-Athlete is a must for you! Kay Rodriguez, a travel blogger at The Kay Days talks about her experiences trying new adventure activities for the first time, including a multi-day trek and rock climbing in Thailand, and how she got past her fear and gained more confidence about her body and it’s abilities.
This is what fitness is all about to me. Being able to say “yes” to any exciting adventure that comes your way without having to worry if your body is up for it. I really enjoyed Kay’s tips on challenging yourself and going for the experience.

Making Memories Outdoors
Which do you remember more from childhood…the moments when you were playing outside and exploring, or the moments when you were playing video games or watching TV? I don’t know about you, but I remember the moments that I spent outdoors a lot more. Family camping trips, spending time with my sister in our “secret spot” by the lake, and swimming in the pool until my hair turned green. Those are the childhood moments I remember the best.
This fun article is from Jaime, thanking her mom and dad for making her into the active adult that she is today. And I completely agree. Memorable moments are made when getting out and being active.
Unhealthy Confessions from Healthy Living Bloggers
Do you ever read a fitness or nutrition blog and think that they must be perfect. Never missing their workout or having a bowl of ice cream. I know I do! I am a junk-food lover to the core and when I follow all the healthy living blogs out there, I sometimes feel guilty about the 4 pieces of pizza I just ate for lunch.
In this roundup of the Unhealthy Confessions from Healthy Living Bloggers, Taylor gets several bloggers who seem like they have it all together to admit some of their unhealthy confessions. It’s so great to read and realize that they are human too!
Here at Fit Life Pursuits, I always want to be transparent with you and will continue to fill you in on some of my confessions. Here’s a good start: I sometimes buy chocolate and hide it from my husband so he can’t eat it before me. And I will eat it all. Shhhhh.

In case you missed anything here at Fit Life Pursuits, here’s a little recap of some of my favorite articles on the site in July:
5 Health and Fitness Apps I Use Every Day (And Why You Should Too)
I kicked off the month of July talking about apps. There are so many great resources out there to help you track, time, and train to stay fit. If you missed it, check out some of my favorites.

Mountain Biking Lava Lands Blackrock Trail to Benham Falls for the First Time
This was probably my favorite adventure for July. I went mountain biking for the first time in years and had an amazing time. The views were breathtaking and it was super fun to try something new.

5 Dynamic Stretches You Should do Before Every Hike
One of the things people tend to overlook when getting ready for a hike, is the body preparation. Whether you are an advanced hiker, or just wanting to get started with some outdoor exploring, these stretches will help to get your body prepared for the hike.

My August Goals
As I have been doing for about 6 months now, I have set some goals for myself for the month of August. I am always trying to push myself and challenge myself, whether it be through fitness or life in general.
1. Complete The End of ExerCIZE Challenge. I have a great group of ladies who I am going to be “cizing it up” with this month.
2. 10,000 steps per day. I have been slacking a bit this past month on my steps.
3. Read daily. I have always enjoyed reading, but lately I have been watching more Hulu than I have been reading.
4. Meet new people. This was on my goals list for last month, but I failed miserably. I am going to go for it again in August.

What are you goals for August?
Do you stretch before a hike?
Do you think you would try more adventures if you were more fit?

That mountain biking adventure looks stellar! I can’t believe it is time already for July round-ups, but you’ve definitely had an awesome month. You’ve got great goals for August too. Is there a certain type of book you enjoy reading the most? I’ve found reading over Hulu before bed relaxes me a lot more. Hopefully it works for you too!
I mostly read fiction books (romance or mystery) but have been trying to take on some business books lately! Those are a little more challenging to get motivated to read. I do most of my reading before bed, but sometimes I am just too lazy to think and would rather vedge out on TV. Haha.
