Do you have a fitness watch that you love? I’ve been looking for a fitness watch that can keep up with my active lifestyle and provide me the valuable information needed to perform better. I think I may have found it in the TomTom® Adventurer Watch. I was recently asked by TomTom® to test out their Adventurer outdoor GPS watch and I’m excited to share my experience with the product.
I participate in a lot of different activities. I’m not just a fitness enthusiast in the gym, but I also enjoy a variety of outdoor activities like hiking, skiing, and rock climbing. When I think about what I could want in the perfect fitness watch, I want something that will motivate me to keep moving, give me important stats for staying healthy, better explore the outdoors, and help me to improve my performance in various sports. After testing out the TomTom® Adventurer, I have to say that I get all that and more!
Motivation to Keep Moving and Stay Healthy
I travel a lot for work so I find myself sitting in a car or on a plane often. It’s important for me to prioritize my day-to-day activity and health. With the step tracker on the TomTom® Adventurer, I can keep a handle on how much I am moving throughout my day. I love being able to track my activity 24/7, including my sleep patterns and total active minutes in a day or a week to determine where I need to improve.
Explore the Outdoors
The trail exploration features with a built-in compass and GPS on the TomTom® Adventurer watch make it easy to explore the outdoors. Just choose one of the outdoor sports modes, including trail-running, hiking, skiing, and snowboarding and get going.
I took my watch skiing and was able track my altitude, distance, ascent, gradient, pace, heart rate, and calories burned all while on the slopes. What was really cool was that the watch automatically detected when I was on the lift, and showed me stats from my previous run, including max speed, total descent, and maximum gradient right on the watch, without me having to pull out the app.
I had the most fun with the max speed feature. This was my first day on the slopes this season and the visibility was limited, but I was still able to get going up to about 39 mph on a run. So much fun! As the season progresses, I’m looking forward to tracking my progress on the slopes.
I also can’t wait to take my watch on a new hike. I love that you can upload a trail GPX file to the watch to follow, or follow the breadcrumb trail to find your way back. This is definitely a watch that is perfect for the outdoor adventurer!
The built-in heart rate monitor on the watch helps me when I am working out at home or in the gym. Depending on my desired intensity level, I can track my heart rate throughout a workout.
By using the watch I can also set daily goals for myself. For goals, you can choose steps, calories or active minute goals and then monitor your progress over several weeks or months. I love having these features to make sure I am improving in my fitness journey over time, and staying on track.
Overall, it has been a lot of fun testing the TomTom® Adventurer watch and I am excited to continue to use it in my daily life, as well as on my adventures!
