Day Five
We started out the day in Jackson, MS. I got my 10 push-ups and plank for the #pushupandplank challenge done first thing this morning! I wasn’t very excited about the hotel room floor but oh well!

Story was really enjoying the hotel room window!

It was 27 degrees when we woke up in Jackson. Brrrr! I guess I should probably start getting used to it!
We took a drive around downtown Jackson and got out of the car for a bit to take a walk around the Mississippi state capitol building. It was pretty!

The town was pretty dead and we were really surprised. We didn’t see one single person downtown, but I guess it is because it was a 27 degree Saturday morning! 🙂
We headed out of Jackson, MS and headed Northwest.
I was really excited to see a boiled peanut stand and had to get some! I haven’t had boiled peanuts in so long. They were delicious!

We took the long way to get to Little Rock, AR and made a stop in Memphis, TN.
We drove by Graceland in Memphis. The tour line was really long so we just drove by it and took some pictures. We also went by some of the downtown Blues Clubs like BB Kings.

We continued our drive to Little Rock. The road quality was terrible and I felt like we were swerving potholes everywhere! I was so scared we were going to blow out a tire!
Once we got to Little Rock, we took the dogs on a walk at the River Market District. It’s an area in Little Rock along the Arkansas River with lots of shops and restaurants. There is also a river walk trail that we walked along for a bit. It was nice to get out of the car and let the dogs get some exercise too!

Linkin was so happy to be on a walk, and he loved the snow!

We also walked over the Big Dam Bridge which goes over the Arkansas river. It is the longest pedestrian-only bridge in North America.

After a quick dinner we are back at the hotel and ready to rest. I am excited about tomorrow because we will actually get on Route 66 starting tomorrow!
