This week has gone by really fast for me! We got back from vacation on Sunday and it has just felt like go go go since then. Tons of laundry! That seems to be the worst thing about coming home from vacation…the suitcases full of dirty clothes! Ugh!
Overall it’s been a good week and a lot of changes are coming my way (I will update you on this soon!) so I’m just taking it all in.
There are 5 things this week that have made me smile. I am linking up with Katie and Heather for today’s Friday Favorites!
1. Finding a good dry shampoo
I try to be consistent about working out every day and I tend to sweat a lot, even in colder weather. I hate having to wash and dry my hair every single day.
I used to think that it was gross not to wash my hair every day, but I got over that. Even after recently going from really long hair to short hair, my hair is usually a disaster after a workout.
I have tried a lot of dry shampoos and I finally found one I absolutely LOVE! If you don’t know what dry shampoo is, it basically freshens up your hair without having to wash it. It works miracles! I tried Suave and Tresemme but really didn’t like them. Suave left my hair feeling stiff, and Tresemme smelled really funny. My favorite now is batiste.

It comes in a few different scents. I have tried several of them and love them all. It makes my hair smell fresh and actually feel fresh! You can find the batiste dry shampoo on Amazon. I like the original or fresh scents the best.
2. Facebook yard sale groups
We are trying to simplify our life and get rid of some of the stuff in our house that has been sitting in the closets. I hate to just throw away things that have value and it would be really nice to get a little money back for these items. The idea of having a garage sale makes me squirm, and I really don’t want to deal with shipping stuff on ebay or craigslist (and I watched the Craigslist Killer movie and it freaked me out!).
I have discovered the world of facebook swip swaps or yard sales. This is where you can join a local private group on facebook and post items that you are wanting to sell. Then when someone is interested, they arrange with you somewhere in town to meet (or you can give them your address if you’re brave) and you give them the item, they pay you cash. So far it’s been super easy! And just in case you’re worried, I obviously only arrange meetings in public parking lots during the day. And, people are genuinely happy to find nice things at a big discount!

If you are looking for one in your area, just type in your city name and “yard sale” or “swip swap” on facebook and you will most likely find one!
3. Nashville
Not the town, although I love that too. I’m talking about the TV show Nashville! It was on it’s “winter break” for what seemed like forever and just started back up last week! The drama is so good!
I actually made a workout to go along with this show (click on the picture below for more details)
Multi-tasking at it’s finest right there!
4. My new Fitbit Charge HR
I tried a Fitbit Flex when they were first out and I didn’t find much use for it. I have been waiting for the Fitbit Charge to come out for what seems like forever! I finally got one!

The reason I wanted a Fitbit Charge HR is because of the heart rate component. It has a heart rate sensor built in so I can tell it when I’m working out and it will actively track my heart rate during a workout. It will tell me which zone I’m in and estimate my calorie burn for the workout based on my heart rate level. So stinkin’ cool! I love it!
5. Strawberries
It’s strawberry season here in Florida and I am obsessed! You may have seen my post on Instagram a few weeks ago about me eating the entire 1/2 flat. Well, I have another one and I’m about to eat through it as well! They are so delicious.

Anyone have any good and healthy strawberry recipes they can share? I’d love to hear them!
Have you discovered any favorites this week?
OMG I am SO jealous of strawberry season – in MN the best I can do this time of year is apples and oranges. Cannot wait for summer. Hope you have a great weekend. Thanks for linking up.
Apple season sounds nice! I don’t think apples can even grow in FL. Thanks for stopping by and hosting the link-up!
I love dry shampoo and actually am religious with the Suave one- it smells beachy and works well!
I just got a FitBit this weekend. I got the Flex and I love it so far. I’m basically using it to make sure I get up from my desk. 🙂
I have to say that getting 10,000 steps has been more of a challenge than I thought it would be! Unless I go for a run in the morning, I have been struggling to get them in. But, having a tracker like the Fitbit is definitely a big help at reminding you to get moving! Do you find it hard or easy to get your steps in?
I bought my first box of strawberries this week and was super pumped! My favorite dry shampoo is….actually I just use baby powder on the days I don’t wash my hair. Sadly since graduating college and starting my job, I’ve been washing my hair everyday since it looks better. I think my Mom is happy that I’m not rockin my baby powder hair as much now too.
Haha I have seen people use baby powder. I tried it but I just ended up making a complete mess! At least you know baby powder smells nice! 🙂
I’ve been eyeing the fitbix flex for awhile, but I’ve heard negative reviews about some of the features. The fitbit HR might be just what I’ve been looking for. Those strawberries look divine
I don’t think any of the fitness trackers are 100% accurate but they do help to get you moving more! I definitely like the added heart rate feature of the HR!
Never tried dry shampoo! Interesting!!
You must try it! It’s awesome!
