Fabletics is a fitness-wear website that was co-founded by actress, Kate Hudson. It’s not your typical online store, it’s more personalized to you.
How It Works
You take a lifestyle quiz so Fabletics can get to know what you like, what colors you like to wear, what types of workouts you like to do, etc. You can choose to shop and purchase your very first outfit or come back later.
VIP vs Regular Members
If you become a VIP member you get your first outfit for 50% off.
On the 1st of each month you will receive an email with personalized outfits that Fabletics has picked out for you. As a VIP member, you will receive a big discount if you decide to purchase one of the outfits, or you can skip that month altogether. VIP membership is free.
The only difference between being a VIP member and a regular member is that you will be charged $49.95 if you don’t skip the month by the 5th and you will have that $49.95 credit to shop for an outfit whenever you want. If you DO skip the month, you don’t pay anything!
For regular members, you don’t have to worry about skipping the month, you just visit the site whenever you’d like to shop. But, you don’t receive the discount on your purchases.
VIP members also receive reward points for purchases, reviewing products, and referring friends. Once you get 1000 points, you get a free outfit! It’s pretty easy to get 1000 points. You can get 1000 points by reviewing 10 items you’ve purchased, or if 2 friends you’ve referred purchase an outfit.
My First Outfit
My very first outfit from Fabletics included 3 items:
The material of this tank is wonderful! So soft and lightweight. I highly recommend it.
I really like these shorts even though I am not much of a runner. I wear them to workout or play other sports. The only negative is that the legging portion rides up when you are being active. Overall, I would recommend them.
The bra is very well-made. It has some padding in the bust, which is great for me since I need all the help I can get! One negative is that it is a little tight. I would recommend going up one size on the bras. The other thing I noticed is that after washing and drying, the elastic band seemed to shift a little. Once it was flattened back out by hand it was fine.
When choosing your sizing, I found that it is much more accurate to go with the letter size (i.e. XXS, XS, S, M etc.) than it is to go by the number size (i.e. 2, 4, 6, 8, etc.).
I am a size 2 but with Fabletics sizing it recommends a size XXS as a size 2. I would not consider myself a XXS so I ordered the XS/4 and it fit well. I would recommend either going up in number size or order based on the letter size. I may even try the S/6 in the sports bra next time since it was a little tight, even though I don’t wear a size 6.
I think Fabletics has very high quality items that can be purchased for less than some of the competing fitness-wear brands, especially if you become a VIP member.
I am a VIP member and so far it has been smooth sailing. If I decide I don’t need a new outfit that month, I just click the “skip this month” link as soon as I receive the monthly email. If I am need of a new outfit (which is more likely) I get to shop from some of the personalized recommendations they’ve made or I can shop the whole site.
