Day Three
We spent another full day at the lakehouse in Tallahassee so that Wes could finish up editing his book.
I spent the morning working on some more writing.
We drove into town (about 30 minutes) to get some lunch at Bagel Bagel and for Wes to get a haircut.
I spent many days going to Bagel Bagel in college and it was just as good as I remembered! I don’t know of any other Bagel Bagels, so it’s a rare opportunity to eat there.
Even though it’s a little college hole-in-the-wall place, I still love it!

I got a Club sub. There is just something about it that makes it so good! They put this Italian dressing on the top that I think does the trick!

And, since we knew we wouldn’t be coming back into town for dinner, I got a Bagel Melt to go to eat later.

I have to admit that this is probably THE MOST UNHEALTHY thing you can eat, but that’s ok because I never get to have it. It’s a bagel topped with cream cheese topped with melted provolone cheese. OH MY GOSH! I saved it for dinner and I was seriously looking forward to it all day.
It was strange to drive around the town I lived in for 4 years in college. I still feel like I belong there but then I realize everyone is about 10 years younger than me! Ugh! I don’t feel that old!
It rained pretty hard the rest of the afternoon so we headed back to the lakehouse and we stayed inside and got some more work done.

Once it stopped raining we took the dogs for a walk and borrowed (stole) some firewood from the neighbor. Wes has become obsessed with fires, so of course we had another one tonight. The temperature did drop about 20 degrees after the rain so a fire was a good idea!

We planned our driving schedule for the next day before calling it a night.
Day Four
We spent the morning cleaning up the lakehouse and Wes finished editing his book and sent it back to his editor for the final time!
It was really chilly this morning!
We left Tallahassee at about noon and headed Northwest towards Jackson, MS. The plan is to stop in Jackson, MS for a night, then Little Rock, AR, and then jump on Route 66 in Tulsa, OK.
We had originally planned on getting on Route 66 in St. Louis, but it was going to make for a much longer drive and we heard they got a really bad winter storm the other day so the road conditions weren’t great.
It was about a 7 hour drive from Tallahassee to Jackson. The drive was pretty boring. We entertained ourselves with some Oregon state trivia and random trivial pursuits trivia, which led to a long conversation about World War II. I’m not a history buff but World War II has always fascinated me!
We’re staying in a Hotel for the night before doing a little exploring in the morning and then heading to Little Rock. I did my #pushupandplank challenge on the hotel floor. It was questionable. 🙂
Have you ever been to Little Rock, AR? What should we do there?
